In a Thousand Ways (Barnes)

In a Thousand Ways (Barnes)

Solos to Sing, Submitted Music (1992-1997)

In a thousand ways

My father said, “I love you.”

In a thousand ways

He showed how much he cared.

In his quiet way

He said much more

Than words could say,

For in a thousand ways

My father spoke his love.

Working day by day,

He gave us food and shelter.

Thinking of our needs,

He kept us safe and warm.

Countless are the days

He labored long,

Yet still kept strong.

And through his caring hands,

He gave his heart.

Giving us his time,

He sacrificed for fam’ly.

Seeming not to mind

As he forgot himself.

In his quiet way

He said much more

Than words could say.

For in a thousand ways

He spoke his love.
