In Gethsemane

Music for Choirs, Submitted Music (1998-2006)

It was for us the Savior knelt in Gethsemane.

Our sins and pains He truly felt in Gethsemane.

We know not how He suffered there, how great the load He chose to bear,

Or how he agonized in prayer, in Gethsemane.

It was for us He hung and died upon Calvary.

The cruel soldiers pierced his side upon Calvary.

And for our sins he paid the price.  His great atonement will suffice.

O love so deep from Jesus Christ, upon Calvary.

It is for Him we take the bread in our Sacrament.

And worship Him who is our Head in our Sacrament.

And through this cup of water pure our memory of Him is made sure,

and cov’nants with Him we secure in our Sacrament.

It is for Him we sing our praise through eternity.

Our voices gratefully we raise, Through eternity.

The Lamb of God has made us free.  He lives that we might ransomed by.

Our dear Redeemer we may see through eternity.
