In the Learning of My Father

In the Learning of My Father

Solos to Sing, Submitted Music (2007-2011)

In the learning of my father I was taught in my youth.

His sweet teachings imparted in kindness, in truth.

Now I wonder, will I do the same?

Loving wisdom, unencumbered by the noise of the day,

precious words of assurance in his gentle way.

Now I wonder, will I do the same?

Take the time, lead the way.

Build them up this very day.

You can’t go back, the time is now.

Don’t let it slip away.

I will teach my little children in the learning of my father for now is the time for them

In his arms, I found protection. On our knees, we shared faith.

From his heart came conviction, compassion, and grace.

Now it’s my turn; will I do the same?

As a child, I knew he loved me and would not break my trust.

His example my teacher, then follow I must.

Now it’s my turn, and I’ll do the same.

Take the time, lead the way.

Build them up this very day.

You can’t go back, the time is now.

Don’t let it slip away.

Yes I will teach my little children in the learning of my father for now is the time for them

Yes, now is the time for them.
