My Family Tree (Moffit)

My Family Tree (Moffit)

Music for Children, Submitted Music (1992-1997)

Ancestors past connected to me.

They are a part of my family tree.

I’ll search and pray so I’ll understand

Just where I fit in our father’s plan.

Loved ones gone by who traveled so far.

Fathers and Mothers who came ‘cross the sea

They’re all a part of one great circle

Part of the branch that connects to my family tree.

Long, long ago and far ‘cross the sea

Started the roots of my family tree.

Strong men and women hearing God’s call

Travelled by faith as they gave their all.

Many would die while making the journey.

Hoping and praying for things yet to be.

Keeping their faith, completing our circle

Adding their strength to each branch of our family tree.

One day in God’s temple on bended knee

I’ll start my branch of our family tree

I’ll teach my children of their great past

Connecting our lives from the first to last

Reading in journals telling old stories

Sharing those mem’ries so previous to me.

We’re all a part of one great circle

Part of the branch that connects to my family tree.
