Promises

As the waters close above me and I rise up clean and whole,

As the hands are laid upon me and the Spirit fills my soul,

I remember how the Savior walked before me on this road:

And my soul is born again through my promises with him.

As I read the Holy Scriptures and repent of all my pride,

As I pray for confirmation and I feel Him by my side,

As I take the bread and water, I remember why He died:

And he takes away my sin through my promises with Him.

As I lose myself in service and I share the things I know,

As I look toward the temple and prepare myself to go,

I will keep a higher promise, and my love for Him will grow:

And Eternal Life begins through my promises with Him.

I will remember. I will proclaim.

I will follow His commandments and receive His name.

I will be like Him. I will be free.

I will be worthy of His promises for me.
