Resurrection

Music for Choirs, Submitted Music (2012-present)

Dims the light of mortal vision,

Wanes our strength in age and pain.

In our hearts now aches the question,

“Shall a man yet live again?”

Where is pow’r our souls to save?

Where the right to rule the grave?

Gath’ring all our sins and sorrows in himself,

Christ bowed in grief.

Then, with broken flesh as off’ring,

On the cross he yielded life.

In his suff’ring hope was born,

In his death, the veil was torn.

Through the tears of Mary’s weeping,

Echoing through the empty tomb,

To our anxious hearts now speaking,

Comes a voice to pierce the gloom.

Death is ended, Christ now reigns.

Ev’ry soul shall live again.
