The Rock of Heaven (Pearson text)

The Rock of Heaven (Pearson text)

Submitted Hymn Texts, Submitted Music (1998-2006)

The Rock of Heaven is my God,

My Everlasting King.

He made the sun, the moon, the stars,

And set them on their wings.

He made the earth and all that lives

To follow His commands.

Yet He loves me and keeps me in

The Hollow of His hand.

The Rock of heaven is my strength,

My fortress, and my shield.

He is the cornerstone of faith;

The hope on which I build.

And though the evil tempest howls

And some are lost to sin,

His mighty bulwark is not moved

And I shall rest with Him.

The Rock gave Isra'l heaven's bread

And when for thirst they groaned,

Twice Moses struck the Rock of Hope

And founts of mercy flowed.

So my Rock in Gethsemane

Once bled to pay my sin

Then, crucified on Calvary,

My Rock saved me again.

The Rock of Heaven is my hope

Throughout eternity.

Though born to sin, I trust in Him

To raise and ransom me.

The Rock is ever my defense:

I'm safe within His hands.

And when I come before His throne

Upon the Rock I'll stand.
