The Shepherd Calls
Submitted Hymn Texts, Submitted Music (2007-2011)
The Shepherd calls. His voice is sweet. Lambs gather close around His feet.
He gently leads to meadows fair where blossoms soft perfume the air.
As sunbeams pure, warm from above, they follow him in faith and love.
The Shepherd calls. We know His voice. We follow Him of our own choice.
Each precious one by name He knows. Each follows Him where e’re He goes
To pastures green where we may feed and trust to Him our every need.
The Shepherd calls. He leads the way, though rough terrain, through dark’ning day.
We hear his voice above the wail of howling wind and pelting hail.
From predators on hill or plain He safely guards us home again.
The Shepherd calls. He bids us all: the rich, the poor, the great,
the small to come to Him, to be His own, no more to stray or be alone.
We come to Him so we may be with Him for all eternity.
