The Tender Mercies of the Lord (Hall, Hymn Text)
Submitted Hymn Texts, Submitted Music (2007-2011)
The Lord is good to all, his tender mercy’s o’er his works.
One tiny sparrows falls, and God in Heaven notices.
How precious then one soul? The Lord is eager each to bless.
God’s blessings shall unfold to those who seek his righteousness
Behold, this is man’s work: to keep God’s law in strength and might.
Walk faithfully on earth and gain from him eternal life!
Choose God indeed and word; repent, obey with one accord.
Abundant flows his love, the tender mercies of the Lord.
Tender, tender are God’s mercies.
Be it sorrow, trial or pain, God delivers those who call in faith upon his holy name.
Upon his holy name. Upon his holy name.
Think well upon those times your mind sought counsel and support.
Did ye not comfort find? Did peace not come into your heart?
With strength beyond your own, exceeding all capacity,
ye would not left alone, the Savior drew more close to thee.
How constant is his care; how sweet the blessing we receive,
To know that he is there, to know the Savior truly lives.
Each eye, behold his hand; each ear, perceive his righteous word.
How marvelous, O man, the tender mercies of the Lord.
Tender, tender are God’s mercies.
Be it sorrow, trial or pain, God delivers those who call in faith upon his holy name.
Upon his holy name. Upon his holy name.
