Thy Deliverance (Reynolds)
Submitted Hymn Texts, Submitted Music (1992-1997)
In ages past thy chosen ones
Have witnessed Thy delivering hand
From lion’s mouth, from furnace flames,
And tyrants raging in the land.
From dangers that I can’t foresee
I know Thou canst deliver me.
The cold, dark tomb with rock-sealed door
On heels of Calvary’s bitter hours
Could not fore’er imprison Thee:
For e’en in death delivering power.
Thou lovest me eternally;
From death Thou hast delivered me.
From workers of iniquity,
From all afflictions, mortal woe,
From my own folly when I sin
I seek Thy help because I know
Thy suffering in Gethsemane
Empow’red Thee to deliver me.
I look to Thee with steadfast hope,
With faith in Thy delivering power,
And firmly put my trust in Thee
For thou art with me every hour.
My broken heart Thy love does heal;
Yes, Thy deliverance is real.
