When Day is Done
Solos to Sing, Submitted Music (1998-2006)
Ev’ry day I make my way and I stumble, I barely walk, and yet I try to run.
But ev’re step, I know is further down the road I travel,
So I look back to see how far I’ve come, when the day is done.
Behind each hill another one is waiting, and when it seems too much to overcome,
I know I’m not alone, never on my own, and You are there to make me all I can become.
Yes You’re still with me when the day is done.
If You are there beside me when I walk out the door I will stand a little taller than I did before.
I know I won’t be perfect, but I’ll be standing in the sun, when the day is done.
Deep inside, a canvas lies within me, lines and colors added one by one.
And in the perfect light, the picture comes alive and I would never realize when I’d begun,
What You’ve created when the day is done.
If You are there beside me when I walk out the door I’ll return a little stronger than I was before
I know I won’t be perfect, but I’ll be standing in the sun, when the day is done.
Someday I’ll be made perfect, and I’ll be standing with the Son, when the day is done.
