Since Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ ushered in the Restoration of the gospel and re-established the Church, the voice of the President of the Church has been a witness of divine, eternal truth. Although the means by which the prophet’s voice is heard has changed through the years, that voice has always been a clarion call to come unto Christ. A video and an article now provide an opportunity to receive the words of every President from Joseph Smith to Thomas S. Monson.
“And now, after the many testimonies which have been given of him, this is the testimony, last of all, which we give of him: That he lives!” (Doctrine and Covenants 76:22).
“I can bear testimony that the gospel of Jesus Christ is true; and the word of the Lord. Whether written or spoken, is true.”
“I know that God rules and reigns in this nation and among the nations of the earth, and that He will direct all things, according to the counsels of His will.”
“I bear my testimony that Joseph Smith was a true prophet of God, ordained of God to lay the foundation of his church and kingdom in the last dispensation and fullness of times. This is my testimony, spoken by myself, into a talking machine, on this the 19th day of March 1897, in the 91st year of my age.”
“The time has now come for every Latter-day Saint, who calculates to be prepared for the future and to hold his feet strong upon a proper foundation, to do the will of the Lord and to pay his tithing in full.”
“There is nothing in the world as evident than the performance of my duties as a servant in the cause of truth.”
“No other people in the world like us, no other people with the power that we have. Why? Because we are following a prophet of the living God.”
“There are some people who are members of the Church, their names are on the record, and they have an idea that that is all that is necessary. But the time will come when they will have to face their record and their admission into the Celestial Kingdom will be conditioned upon they way they have observed the advice of our Heavenly Father right here upon earth.”
“Members of the Church of Christ are under obligation to make the sinless Son of Man their ideal. The one perfect being who ever walked the earth.”
“We plead with fathers and mothers to teach personal purity by precept and example and to counsel with their children in all such things.”
“This people must increase in beauty before the world. Have an inward loveliness, which may be observed by mankind as a reflection in holiness and in those inherent qualities of sanctity. The borders of Zion where the righteous and pure in heart may dwell must now begin to be enlarged. The stakes of Zion must be strengthened.”
“Individual members of the Church, the major strides which must be made by the Church will fall upon the major strides to be made by us as individuals. We have paused on some plateaus long enough. Let us resume to journey forward and upward.”
“We have the Book of Mormon. We have the members. We have the missionaries. We have the resources, and the world has the need. The time is now.”
“I bless you in your efforts to live a more Christ-like life. I bless you with an increased desire to be worthy of a temple recommend and to attend the temple as frequently as circumstances allow.”
“I know you are young people who pray, who get on your knees and speak with the Lord. You know that He is the source of all wisdom. You need His help. And you know that you need His help. You cannot do it alone. You will come to realize that and recognize it more and more as the years pass. So live that in good conscience you can speak with the Lord. Get on your knees and thank Him for His goodness to you, and express to Him the righteous desires of your hearts. The miracle of it all is that He hears, He responds, He answers, not always as we wish He might answer, but there is no question in my mind that He answers.”
“For we have the sure knowledge that God lives and that Jesus is the Christ. I pray heaven’s blessings to be with you. May your homes be filled with harmony and love. May you constantly nourish your testimonies that they might be a protection to you against the adversary. As your humble servant I desire with all my heart to do God’s will and to serve Him and to serve you.”
