Dispensations: The Pattern of Apostasy and Restoration
A new Doctrinal Mastery video entitled “Dispensations: The Pattern of Apostasy and Restoration” is available to help teach about dispensations, apostasy, and the restoration of gospel truths. In this video, Elder David A. Bednar of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles explains the concepts of dispensations and dispensation heads, and he addresses why this last dispensation is unique. He also encourages Church members to flood the earth with righteousness and truth.
This video is included in next year’s Book of Mormon Doctrinal Mastery lesson on the Restoration, but please feel free to use it this year as you teach and review dispensations, apostasy, or the Restoration in your study of the New Testament. Related scripture passages include Ephesians 2:19–20; 4:11–14; and 2 Thessalonians 2:1–3. Another resource is Elder Bednar’s address “To Sweep the Earth as with a Flood” (Brigham Young University Education Week devotional, Aug. 19, 2014).
