Doctrinal Mastery App Update

The Doctrinal Mastery app has been updated in 38 languages with the following features:

• The revised list of scripture passages
• Fixes to technical bugs
• Dark mode and screen casting support
• Content imports from the Gospel Library app and other sources

In addition, the Doctrinal Mastery app is now available for download in the iOS and Android platforms in these languages.

 

Using the App

The Doctrinal Mastery app can be an effective tool for learning in or out of class. it was created to help people study and learn the doctrinal mastery passages approved by the Church Board of Education. The digital activities focus on three different dimensions of mastery:

• Learning the verses by knowing the associated scripture references.
• Applying the gospel principles and doctrines taught in the scripture passages.
• Memorizing the passages.

The Memorize activity allows learners and teachers to work on memorizing the passages word for word by using the slider. The slider allows users to progressively hide words, leaving only the first letter as a hint. Content can be filtered by book of scripture, mixed from among books of scripture, and organized with personalized content.

The Flashcards activity allows learners and teachers to learn and review the scripture references associated with key phrases from the passage. Options allow users to start with the scripture reference, key scripture phrase, doctrine or principle, an alternate clue, or a case study. Flashcards can be filtered by book of scripture, mixed from among books of scripture, and organized with personalized content.

The Quiz activity allows learners and teachers to assess their learning of the doctrinal mastery passages by taking multiple-choice quizzes on passages. Users can take quizzes on passages that they choose. Options allow users to quiz with the scripture reference, a key scripture phrase, doctrine or principle, an alternate clue, or a case study. Quizzes can be filtered by book of scripture, mixed from among books of scripture, and organized with personalized content.

Adding Custom Content to the Doctrinal Mastery App

Users can import other scriptures or Gospel Library content by selecting and importing text to the Doctrinal Mastery app from the Gospel Library app as indicated below.
