“Contents,” Ensign, Aug. 1974, 1
Volume 4 Number 8
Six fluted facets interfaced
With bastions strong and tall,
One for each day from Adam
Till He comes whose House it is.
Seven stories build upon each other,
One for each period of creation and rest.
We call these gifts our richest gifts,
And yet we give them with imperfect hands,
These products of a fallen earth—
The steel and stones, the glass and wood,
Used commonly to build the homes of man.
But here we raise a house for God.
