“A Trilogy Companionship,” Ensign, Feb. 1977, 63
A Trilogy Companionship
Can I approach God
with my face turned away
from you?
Can I want his embrace
without longing for yours?
Or his touch on my cheek
and love in his eyes
for me?
Can I yearn his acknowledgment
of love between us
and exclude you?
And how long can I worship him
without touching
our sharing?
My love,
such sharing can only be
a trilogy companionship—
You,
our God,
and me.
