Inside front cover: The Prophet Reined His Horse: Just One Last Look at Fair Nauvoo, by Harold I. Hopkinson. Brother Hopkinson, a stake president in Wyoming, says of the painting: “My purpose in making the painting was to hopefully remind the viewers of the traumatic ordeal of that last ride to Carthage, which the Prophet Joseph took knowing he would never see Nauvoo or his family again.” The painting, which is oil on canvas, was completed in early 1979. It measures 30″ x 48″ and is located in the First Quorum of the Seventy council room in the Salt Lake Temple.
