“The Sacrament,” Ensign, Sept. 1986, 21
The Sacrament
“I stand all amazed …” shimmers
In the organ air. Our hearts
Respond like tuning forks, and voices
Lift in unison of words garbed in the robes
Of melody. All separation vanishes;
We are made one in song’s sweet ebb and flow,
In comfort of the Word. The very air is full
Of benediction—joy like a current in the room.
“For me He was crucified” halts my voice,
Stuns me to pleading silence. I am awash
In tears and truth.
