Inside front cover: The Nuku’Alofa Tonga Temple, photography by Wm. Floyd Holdman. Nearly 7,000 people attended the site dedication for the Nuku’Alofa Tonga Temple on 18 February 1981. After President Spencer W. Kimball and Tonga’s King Tuafa’ahau Tupou IV broke ground, a feast was held in honor of the occasion. The temple was dedicated two and one-half years later, 9–11 August 1983, by President Gordon B. Hinckley.
