A Time to Talk

Usually we think of journeys as places to go by car, plane, or train. But the journeys made in our imaginations are journeys that are made with the mind. When your family plans a trip or a vacation, the things you consider are how much it will cost, how far you will go, and when you will come back.

Journeys of the mind are not dependent on enough money, time, or energy. With journeys of the mind, all you need to do is close your eyes (or even keep them open) and imagine that you are anywhere, that you are anyone, and that you are anyplace. A great poet once said, “Iron bars do not a prison make.” He meant that human beings can think and imagine worlds that will never be visited because there isn’t enough money or time or opportunity.

When you use your mind to journey into unknown worlds, there are no limitations. However, if you live in worlds created by your mind, you will be called a dreamer. Dreams are important. The dreams of a child often become a real part of a man’s life.

You need to be certain that all of your world is not imaginative and that you know the difference between the real world and the world of your imagination. Make good use of your imagination!
