After Snow Play
After a day when I’ve played in the snow
Till my toes are atingle, my nose is aglow,
I pull off my snowsuit all soggy and red,
Unfasten my cap; take if off from my head,
And then Mother says, “You need warming through,
So here’s something warm I’ve made just for you.”
She hands me a mug of chocolate to drink,
And as I am sipping, I always think,
This is the very best taste that can be!
My mother is good to make it for me.
