Kitchen Krafts
Howling Good Hamburgers
1 cup catsup
1/2 cup water
3 tablespoons vinegar
2 tablespoons sugar
2 tablespoons chopped onion
2 pounds lean ground beef
10 hamburger buns

For hot barbecue sauce, combine in medium saucepan catsup, water, vinegar, sugar, and onion. Heat to boiling, then simmer.

Shape ground beef into 10 patties and fry or broil until brown on both sides.

Set cooked patties into large fry pan and add sauce. Simmer 10 minutes (may be chilled and reheated when needed). Serve on hamburger buns.
Golden Carrots
5 medium carrots
3 tablespoons brown sugar
2 tablespoons butter

Cut tops off carrots, then scrub, peel, and cut into slices.

Put carrots in heavy covered pan with water half covering them. Add a pinch of salt and a pinch of sugar and cook 8 to 10 minutes. Drain.

In small pan melt butter and brown sugar. Add to carrots, then mix, and serve.
Ghostly Floats
For each float, combine in tall glass 1 cup chilled orange juice and 1/2 cup lemon-flavored soda water. Add scoop of orange sherbet, and serve with long spoon and tall straw.
