“Leaf Dance,” Friend, Oct. 1982, 33
Leaf Dance
Light and free appears to me
A waltzing, whirling tumble-spree.
Skipping, twirling, gliding down
Are leaves of yellow, red, and brown.
They all have but a single chance
To do their special autumn dance.
And so they go with best of cheer,
Until it’s time again next year.
