Early in the MORNING on the FIRST DAY of the week, Mary Magdalene went to the SEPULCHRE and saw that the STONE had been TAKEN AWAY. She ran to tell SIMON PETER and the other disciple, whom Jesus loved, that someone had taken the LORD away.

The two DISCIPLES went to the TOMB, and when they looked inside, they saw that it was EMPTY. The LINEN CLOTHES were there, but the BODY of the Lord was not.

MARY stayed by the sepulchre and WEPT. Then she looked INSIDE and saw TWO ANGELS dressed in WHITE. They spoke to her. When she stepped outside of the tomb, Mary saw a man. Thinking that he was the gardener, she said, “Tell me where thou HAST LAID him [Jesus].” When the MAN spoke her name, she turned toward Him and knew that He was JESUS.

That same EVENING, when the disciples were gathered together, Jesus CAME and stood among them and said, “PEACE BE UNTO YOU.”
