To Gladden the Heart
To make this Mother’s Day gift, you will need: scissors, piece of cardboard or heavy construction paper, red marker, trimmings (if desired), fine black pen or felt-tip marker, glue, clothespin, small magnet.

Cut out scripture cards.

Cut 2″ (5 cm) heart out of cardboard, color it red, and write “To Gladden the Heart” on it with black pen.

Glue heart to top of clothespin, as illustrated.

Glue small magnet to back of clothespin.

Place scripture cards in gripping end of clothspin.

Make additional scripture cards if you wish, using your favorite scriptures or some of the following “heart” scriptures: Jacob 3:2, Proverbs 24:17 [Prov. 24:17], Doctrine and Covenants 61:2 [D&C 61:2], Doctrine and Covenants 64:34 [D&C 64:34], Psalm 119:10 [Ps. 119:10], Psalm 19:14 [Ps. 19:14], Proverbs 4:20–21 [Prov. 4:20–21].
