When I Can’t Go to Sleep at Night
When I can’t go to sleep at night,
I shut my eyes, then squeeze them tight.
I roll up in a little ball
Until I’m hardly there at all.
I put my pillow on my head
Or stretch out sideways on my bed.
I let my arms fall to the floor,
And then I count to ninety-four.
My mom would surely have a fright
If she came in to check some night
And found my feet where head should be.
I bet she would uncover me,
Turn me ‘round and tuck me in,
Then pull the covers to my chin.
She would make sure that I’m all right
When I can’t go to sleep at night.
