Easter Window

To make a stained glass window, you will need: old newspapers, old crayons, a pencil sharpener, a small bowl, scissors, waxed paper, an iron, a hole punch, and ribbon.

1. Cover the work area with the newspaper.

2. Peel the paper off the crayons. Using the pencil sharpener, scrape the crayons into thin peelings over a bowl. Make sure you don’t have thick crayon peelings. Mix them together.

3. Cut two pieces of waxed paper the same size. Sprinkle the peelings over one piece of waxed paper, leaving its edges uncovered.

4. With an adult’s help, heat an iron to low heat. Then place the second piece of waxed paper on top of the peelings, and gently slide the iron over the paper. Stop ironing when the peelings have melted together. Let cool.

5. Trim the edges of the waxed paper so that you have a square.

6. Punch a hole near the top of your square. Put a piece of ribbon in the hole, and tie the ends together. Hang your stained glass square in a window.
