“Bedtime,” Friend, Feb. 1995, 39
Bedtime
I need someone to hug me tight,
A teddy bear to kiss good night,
My night-light shining soft and bright
Before I go to sleep.
I brush my teeth and wash my face,
Put all my toys back in their place,
And look out at the stars in space
Before I go to sleep.
I like the scriptures to be read,
A glass of water by my bed,
And I make sure my prayers are said
Before I go to sleep.
Mom tucks my blanket ’round me tight,
Dad smiles as he turns off the light,
I think of dreams to dream tonight—
And then go to sleep!
