My Box of Paints
Watercolor paints
Are magical to me.
Look inside my paint box,
And this is what you’ll see:
Some cowboys riding horses,
A twinkling summer star,
An elephant, a barking dog,
A purple racing car,
A winter night, some spiders,
An orange hula hoop,
A policeman, and a fire truck,
A bowl of alphabet soup.
There might be cocoa and cookies
Or a singing violin,
A yellow-striped rhinoceros,
A cat with a silly grin.
But open my paint box slowly—
It’s just so full of things
That ducks and bears might tumble out
With trumpets, drums, and kings!
