Teach Me the Scriptures

Read me the scriptures; teach them to me.

Tell me the stories so true.

Teach me of Alma, Nephi, and Job;

Teach me of Joseph and Ruth.

Help me to see how they followed the Lord—

Kept covenants, and chose the right.

Even when trials challenged their faith

They stayed true and won the fight.

The struggles I face may be different today.

But by following the prophets’ lead,

I can make choices that strengthen my faith

And help me, like them, to succeed.

Teach me the scriptures so I’ll be prepared

And know what I need to be strong.

My Father in Heaven is waiting for me,

For with Him is where I belong.
