“Friends in the News,” Friend, Oct. 2010, 47 Friends in the News Milligan Valley Ward When the Primary children of the Milligan Valley Ward, Eagar Arizona Stake, learned that a four-year-old boy in their stake was being treated for cancer, they wanted to do something to help him feel better. Each child made a quilt square, and with the help of a member of the Primary presidency, they made him a warm, soft flannel quilt. Toledo Second Ward The Primary children of the Toledo Second Ward, Toledo Ohio Stake, enjoyed making posters representing what they learned about eternal families. They enjoyed coloring the posters and sharing their artwork with each other. Kelli, Benjamin, and Anna M., 10, 7, and 6, Utah, enjoy spending time with their family hiking, biking, swimming, working in the garden, raking leaves, and playing together. Kelli likes to write kind notes to family members, friends, and teachers. Benjamin enjoys helping his dad work in the yard. Anna likes to help her mom make dinner. Spring L., 12, Utah, has six sisters, two brothers, and a cat named Chug. She likes to eat grapefruit. She is a good student, swimmer, and softball player. She has a strong testimony of the gospel. Cole R., 6, Utah, likes dancing and listening to music, especially Primary songs. He raises chickens and puts the money he earns from selling the eggs toward his mission fund. Alexis B., 7, South Carolina, likes to sing, dance, read, and make books. She is learning to play the piano. She is excited to get baptized! Dillon H., 7, Wyoming, likes to read, write stories, and do math. He enjoys fishing, hunting, and playing the piano. His favorite hymn is “How Firm a Foundation.” He was excited to be sealed to his parents and brother in the Denver Colorado Temple. Zackry H., 10, Texas, portrayed Joseph Smith in a class “wax museum” at school. He gave a memorized speech about Joseph Smith in a log cabin he made out of cardboard and rolls of paper.
