Say Thank You
Say thank you when someone buys you a book or two,
even if you already have them.
Say thank you if someone reads you a book,
even if you have heard it a million times.
Say thank you if someone buys you an animal,
even if you are allergic to it.
Say thank you if someone takes you to a restaurant,
even if the food is bad.
Say thank you if someone buys you shoes,
even if you don’t like them.
Say thank you if someone gives you money,
even if it is a penny.
Say thank you!

Storm
Late at night
the wind howls,
the storm roars.
Raindrops pound on the ground
like drumsticks on a drum,
a massive shower
from the massive sky.
Lightning breaks the night.
A bullet with a tail
flashes in the dark;
an electrical whip
slashes the earth.
Thunder booms and crackles,
roars like an angry lion.
The storm moves on and on
through the dark night.
