Rock Art
A mosaic is artwork made with small pieces of stone, glass, or tile. The pieces are arranged to form pictures and patterns. Collect some colorful rocks and find a flat place to arrange them into your own mosaic.

3/4 cup warm milk
2 tablespoons butter, melted
1 tablespoon sugar
1 egg yolk
2 teaspoons active yeast
2 cups flour
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/4 cup softened butter
1/3 cup cinnamon sugar
-
Whisk the milk, butter, sugar, egg yolk, and yeast in a bowl. Set aside for 10 minutes.
-
Stir the flour and salt into the milk mixture.
-
Cover the bowl with plastic wrap and let the dough rise for an hour.
-
Roll the dough into a rectangle about 18 x 12 inches (46 x 30 cm). Spread the softened butter evenly over the dough. Sprinkle with cinnamon sugar.
-
Roll dough up lengthwise, to make a log.
-
Cut the log in half lengthwise, leaving one end uncut.
-
Braid the two pieces together, keeping the cut edges on the outside. Pinch the ends together to make a wreath.
-
Bake at 350°F (175°C) on a greased cookie sheet for 30–35 minutes, or until golden brown.
