Elder Uchtdorf will be 80 years old this year! He likes banana split ice cream!

He and his wife, Harriet, have two children, six grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren.

He was baptized in a public indoor swimming pool.

As a young boy in Germany, he rode his bicycle to deliver laundry for his family’s business.

He was a fighter pilot in the German Air Force and a B747 airline captain.
