Peace from the Savior
Adapted from “Peace in This Life,” Liahona, Dec. 2016.
The Savior said, “In the world ye shall have tribulation” (John 16:33). That means that on earth we will all have some hard times. But He also gave us this promise: “Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you” (John 14:27). By following the Savior, we can feel peace in our hard times.
When we take the sacrament, we promise to remember the Savior. You can think about Him in ways that help you feel close to Him. Sometimes I think about Him kneeling in the Garden of Gethsemane. Sometimes I picture Him calling Lazarus to come out of the tomb. As I do, I feel close to Him. I feel gratitude and peace. You can too.
Jesus promised that when we keep His commandments and follow Him, the Holy Ghost will be with us. Then we can find peace, no matter what happens in our life.
