What Does “Gathering Israel” Mean?

Gathering Israel means helping people make and keep covenants, or promises, with Heavenly Father. Inside the temple we can do this by being baptized for those who have died. Prophets have promised that as we help gather Israel, we will feel Jesus Christ’s love for us.

Harare Zimbabwe

This will be the first temple in Zimbabwe.
Elder Edward Dube, who is from Zimbabwe, said a prayer at the groundbreaking. He prayed that the temple would help turn people’s hearts to Jesus Christ.

Freiberg Germany

This temple has brick walls that are 2 feet (60 cm) thick.
When it was finished in 1985, it was the smallest temple.
Almost 90,000 people attended the two-week open house.
