To Do the Will of God
Sidney and Phebe Brooks Rigdon
Before joining the Church, Sidney Rigdon was a Christian minister.
His friend Parley P. Pratt gave him a copy of the Book of Mormon.
Sidney read and prayed about the book.
He felt peace and knew it was the word of God.
Joining the restored Church meant he would lose his job as minister over his church.
“What should we do?”
His wife, Phebe, had also gained a testimony of the Book of Mormon.
“It is my desire to do the will of God.”
The Rigdons were baptized the next month.
Sidney was prompted to travel to New York …
… where he met Joseph Smith.
He worked as a scribe for the Prophet.
The Rigdons had strong testimonies and influenced many for good.
