“They Are Mine and I Know Them”

Have you ever felt insignificant? You may have felt this way when you’ve thought about how many people there are in the world or looked at how many stars are in the sky. Have you ever wondered if God really knows who you are and what your life is like? If so, then Moses has a message for you.
In a vision, God showed Moses every speck of the earth and all the people who would live there. They were as “numberless as the sand upon the sea shore” (Moses 1:28). God then told Moses that He had made “worlds without number” (Moses 1:33)—that His creations reach far beyond this earth.
Moses probably felt overwhelmed when he saw all of these things. Perhaps he wondered: Where do I fit in among so many creations? And how can God keep track of so much?
God’s answer was simple: “All things are numbered unto me.” How? “They are mine and I know them” (Moses 1:35). God knew who Moses was, even as He knows all of His children, as well as all of His creations. All of them are His—the stars, the sand, and especially His children on the earth. They are the whole reason that He made the earth. Their eternal salvation is God’s most important work.
“For behold, this is my work and my glory—to bring to pass the immortality and eternal life of man” (Moses 1:39).
Just as Moses learned where he fit in God’s plan, you too can be assured that God knows you! Helping you return to Him is His work and glory. Why? Because you are His. And there is nothing insignificant about that!
