Mocking Can Never Change the Truth
You can stand up for what’s true even if people make fun of you.
We live in a time when more and more people mock Jesus Christ, His teachings, and His followers.
To mock means to ridicule, make fun of, or taunt. It is not easy to be mocked, but how you respond makes all the difference.
Follow the Savior’s Example
The Savior is the perfect example of how to respond to mockery. He endured the mocking of those who didn’t believe Him. But their mocking could never change the truth: He is the Son of God and was doing His Father’s will. Jesus courageously stood for truth. And He can help you to do the same.
Stand for Truth
When you’re in a situation where you could defend Jesus Christ and His Church, don’t run from it. That can lead to regret because you missed an opportunity to bless others with the eternal and unchanging truths the world needs to know.
Standing up for the truth isn’t always easy, especially when you’re mocked for it. This may happen at school, at work, with friends, or even with family.
Jesus was mocked, prophets are mocked, and many others have been mocked for defending the truth. It may be uncomfortable when others mock you, but defending the truth is always the right thing to do, because mocking can never change the truth.
