If a friend came to your house at midnight asking for bread, would you …

  • Give it to them?

  • Or

  • Turn them away?

If you came across a child who was hungry, would you give them …

  • Bread?

  • A stone?

  • A fish?

  • A serpent?

  • An egg?

  • A scorpion?

The answer:

The Savior explained that even a person in bed, disturbed at midnight, would give bread to his friend if his friend asked long enough. And parents would give their children food when they ask for it.

What does it mean?

We are imperfect, but we know how to give good gifts to those who ask us. Our Heavenly Father is perfect, and He knows how to give the very best gifts to His children (all of us—including you).

He loves you. He hears your prayers (even at midnight!) and knows your needs. He will help you in His time and way.
