A Great Future in Paraguay
When Myriam Samaniego was young, her family was introduced to the restored gospel, and they entered the waters of baptism. At the time, she played on the Paraguayan national handball team. She won several international titles and became famous in her country.
“With the help of my parents, I had the blessing of converting at an early age,” she said. “The gospel of Jesus Christ helped me set guides and objectives while in my youth. I have held tightly to these all my life.”
After her sports career, she earned a university degree and worked in the state telephone business before becoming the public affairs director for the Church in Paraguay. The principles of the gospel affected all areas of her life. “The principles of self-sufficiency helped prepare me educationally [and] has permitted me to work in my profession while it has been necessary. This has prepared me to support my family if it is required.”
She met and married Jorge Maluff, and they raised a family together in the Church. “With my husband,” she said, “we have goals to teach our children to return to the presence of our Heavenly Father as an eternal family.”
