Episode 3: Word and Will of the Lord

R. Eric Smith is the editorial manager for Church History Department publications. Eric is also a general editor of the Joseph Smith Papers. In this week’s episode Eric helps explain the covenant that the early Saints made to ensure that all, including the very poor, could make the trip west. Eric also tells us of the surprise felt when the Brooklyn passenger ship arrived at Yerba Buena (later San Francisco) and the Saints on board saw an American flag flying.
