“Family Home Evening Ideas,” Liahona, Jan. 2014, 3
Family Home Evening Ideas
This issue contains articles and activities that could be used for family home evening. The following are two ideas.
“Preparing Gifts for Your Future Family,” page 46: After reading President Eyring’s article, consider holding a family talent show where parents and children can share a talent. After everyone has had the chance to share, parents could describe ways in which their talents bless the family. They could then invite children to share how their talents bless the family—and how they will someday bless their future families. Parents might encourage children to set goals to continue developing their talents.
“Old Testament Scripture Challenge,” page 74: Consider starting the Old Testament reading challenge as a family. You could remove the coloring chart from the magazine or print out a copy from liahona.lds.org to mark your progress. Read and discuss the suggested scriptures as a family and consider making a plan to complete the weekly reading challenge this year.
