Pointing Us All to Jesus Christ

Life is a journey. The Liahona can help.

In Book of Mormon times, the Lord prepared the Liahona to help Lehi and his family progress on their journey. It was a “compass, which would point unto them a straight course to the promised land” (Alma 37:44).

Like Lehi, we are on a journey. We will have highs and lows. Sun and storms. Peace and pain. But through it all, there is a divine purpose because we have divine potential. Our Heavenly Father doesn’t just want us to be back with Him; He wants us to become more like Him through His Son, Jesus Christ. But sometimes we need help.

Under the direction of living prophets, the Liahona magazine in our day is designed to help us know the way and how to walk it. Learning and living the gospel of Jesus Christ changes us. And when we have crossed our own deserts and oceans, we will find that following Him through both sun and storm has allowed Him to make us what He always knew we could become.

A Magazine for Every Heart and Home

Whether you’re from Slovenia or Spain, Madagascar or Massachusetts, this magazine is for you. Whether you speak Korean or Kiribati; whether your home is brick or bamboo; whether you were baptized 80 years ago yesterday or just yesterday. Married, single, old, young—these pages speak to and reflect you. Your testimony, your experience, your household of faith. That is the great blessing of having one global magazine for adults. It unites us and reminds us that we all belong to a worldwide family and a worldwide church.

So come join us as we all move closer to Jesus Christ. One issue at a time, one page at a time. With prophets and apostles guiding us, and with a loving Savior helping us. All of us. Together.

What to Expect from the New Liahona

Messages from Prophets and Apostles

First Presidency

The Liahona magazine will feature messages from Church leaders in a more timely way. These messages, in print and online, will point us all to the Savior.

More Support for All Members

Previously, some members received the magazine only a few times a year, depending on their language. Now the three global Church magazines will print every month or every other month in languages spoken by about 97 percent of members.
