RootsTech Connect
RootsTech is an organised repeating conference hosted by FamilySearch. RootsTech gathers multiple family history and ancestry organisations where they all offer their unique programs and support. The aim of these RootsTech conferences is to, “help individuals learn and use the latest technology to start, or accelerate their efforts to find, organise, preserve and share their family’s connections and history.”
One of last year’s conferences was groundbreaking, and one of the first-ever family discovery conferences outside of Salt Lake City, Utah. It was held at ExCel London convention centre in October 2019 and represented 42 countries with nearly 10,000 attendees but with the advances of technology.
This month, February 25th–27th 2021, the conference is virtual and worldwide—for free!
February 2021 RootsTech Connect will follow similar models from previous conferences— including keynote speakers, more than 150 classes taught by industry specialists, and an interactive opportunity to get familiar with latest technologies to research family history from any of the organisations involved, and it’s all done virtually.
Like the London event in 2019 with General Authorities, including Elder David A. Bednar and Sister Susan Bednar, celebrities like Dan Snow, British historian and television presenter, Paralympic gold medallist Kadeena Cox, and singers Donny Osmond and Tre Amici, ‘RootsTech Connect’ will give us access to other special guests and speakers who share interests and connections with family history.
