Service Missionary Opportunities Increase

Service mission opportunities are now available for senior Church members anywhere in the world. Senior service mission assignments were previously available only in the United States, Canada, and a limited number of other areas. Service missionaries live at home and serve for 8 to 40 hours a week for a minimum of six months. Their local stake president continues to be their ecclesiastical leader.

Seniors are still encouraged to serve full-time missions away from home if their circumstances allow.
