Area Presidency Christmas Message
Dear Brothers and Sisters,
As we approach the Christmas season, we would like to express our love for you and for our Savior, Jesus Christ. We each have our own story as to how we have come to know the Savior. Each story is sacred and a personal testimony of how much Jesus Christ loves each one of us, individually.
The story of the birth of the Savior is perhaps the greatest story of all:
And she brought forth her firstborn son, and wrapped him in swaddling clothes, and laid him in a manger. And there were in the same country shepherds abiding in the field . . . And, lo, the angel of the Lord came upon them. And the angel said unto them, Fear not: for, behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy, which shall be to all people. For unto you is born this day in the City of David a Savior, which is Christ the Lord. And suddenly there was with the angel a multitude of the heavenly host praising God, and saying, Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace, good will toward men (See Luke 2).
What gift could we give the Savior this Christmas season as a sign of our gratitude for what He has done for us? A few months ago, we shared with you an invitation from President M. Russell Ballard to all Church members. That invitation—to reach out to a less active member or to someone who is not a member of the Church and invite them to experience the blessings of the gospel.
What greater gift could we give the Savior than to show our appreciation for His life and for His atoning sacrifice than to bring souls to Him.
We testify of the divinity of our Lord and Savior. We invite you to unite our hearts together to bless our father’s children by honoring President Ballard’s request.
