Types of Personal Revelation

Elijah stood on a mountain and saw the wind break the rocks, and he felt an earthquake, “and after the earthquake a fire; but the Lord was not in the fire: and after the fire a still small voice” (1 Kings 19:12). Here are three of the ways that still, small voice brings revelation to us.

Sometimes personal revelation brings enlightenment immediately, like turning on a light in a dark room.

Sometimes we have just enough light to take a few steps forward.

Sometimes personal revelation comes gradually, like a sunrise.¹
