“There Is Hope,” Liahona, Sept. 2022.
Welcome to This Issue
There Is Hope!
No matter what challenges we face, Jesus Christ is our hope. Elder Ronald A. Rasband of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles establishes the theme of this month’s issue with that beautiful truth in his new article, “Hope and Comfort in Christ” (page 4).
For many parents, that message of hope is particularly needed as they do their best to raise children in a difficult world. President Russell M. Nelson has taught: “The adversary is increasing his attacks on faith and upon us and our families at an exponential rate. To survive spiritually, we need counterstrategies and proactive plans” (“Opening Remarks,” Liahona, Nov. 2018, 7). To support parents in this sacred work, the Church continually seeks to provide resources that are both relevant and useful.
In this month’s issue, my coauthor and I share a pattern for parents that brings together gospel principles and practical strategies that can help parents create strong relationships with their children, nurture their faith, and build unity (see “A Powerful Pattern for Parenting” on page 10).
The Holy Ghost can guide us to the hope and help we need. Elder José A. Teixeira of the Seventy teaches how we can receive more abundant guidance through the Holy Ghost in “Choose to Be Spiritually Minded” (page 40).
We hope this issue helps you and your family find hope, feel more love, and experience greater joy.
Sincerely,
