Self-reliance
Self-reliance Blesses Me Spiritually and Physically
My name is Ama Boatemaa Boateng. I am from the Koforidua Ghana Stake. I was born and raised in the Church. I served my mission in the Nigeria Lagos Mission 2017–2018. After my mission, I graduated from Koforidua Technical University in 2022. I studied fashion design and textiles.
I love to work in millinery and accessories. After graduating I began a small business dealing in beading, jewelry design, and making fascinators etc.
In Alma 37:35, I have come to understand that we need to learn wisdom in our youth and to keep the commandments of God. I have come to know the importance of being self-reliant. Self-reliance is one of the best principles from the Lord. Self-reliance helps us to become independent.
Serving a mission was a great part of my life and that is where self-reliance started for me and I have come to know the importance of it. Paying tithes and offerings, attending sacrament, going to the temple, and doing temple ordinances also help in building my self-reliance. It builds my temporal wellbeing as a human. Education and training will also help us to be successful in life. Exhibiting what I can do has helped build my knowledge in the gospel of Jesus Christ, church, society, community, and my family.
I know when we put God first, we are blessed both spiritually and physically.
